'In 2000 the Cranbrook School Music Department decided to apply for funding to replace its ageing pianos in the teaching and practice studios. In looking at the possibilities, there was no doubt that the package proposed by Theme and Variations Piano Services / Steinway and Sons was an outstanding opportunity. Besides the considerable savings on the pianos themselves, we were offered workshops, masterclasses, concerts, discounts on servicing and purchases from Theme and Variations. In addition the possibility of fundraising with Steinway and Sons seemed a tremendous advantage. Apart from all these collateral advantages it was the educational aspect of the complete package that impressed the then Headmaster of Cranbrook School, Dr Bruce Carter. Cranbrook School feels fortunate in its association with Theme and Variations Piano Services. All dealings have been conducted in a warm, friendly atmosphere and we look forward to visits from them or indeed visitors from either New York or Hamburg Steinway. The friendly, uncomplicated nature of our dealings with the Steinway name is something we value immensely.' Peter Sagar |
