Piano Hire
Our fleet of six hire pianos over NSW and QLD range from upright pianos to nine foot Steinway concert grands. We pride ourselves on providing concert-standard instruments and service with every hire and are renowned throughout the industry for providing reliable, efficient and quality instruments and service wherever we go, whether its at the State Theatre in Sydney, to Anita’s Theatre in Wollongong or the Jenolan Caves in Blue Mountains!
 Repairs and Restorations
Deciding whether to restore an older piano or replace it with a new one can be a difficult decision, particularly if it is a special family heirloom or a unique instrument. Our network of experienced technicians will ensure that honest, practical and professional advice is given every time when it comes to your well-loved piano and help guide you in the right direction. As well as our piano showrooms, we have a fully-equipped piano workshop in both New South Wales and Queensland which are experienced in full piano restorations and rebuilds.
Piano Tuning, Regulation and Voicing
We promote excellence in pianos, and therefore our technicians are all given the opportunity to further their knowledge by training at the Steinway Academy at Steinway & Sons Hamburg. Theme & Variations prides itself on excellence in service and tuneand service pianos in for many institutions, venues, colleges and schools in New South Wales and Queensland.
Pianos in private residences should ideally be tuned twice a year or once a year at a minimum. On top of tuning, pianos also need regulation and voicing. Regulation helps to improve the touch of the keyboard and should result in an even and smooth feel when playing. Voicing is the manipulation of hammers which sets and evens out the tone of a piano. Our technicians can let you know during a tuning service if your piano might need a regulation or voicing. All our new pianos come with two complimentary services that include tuning, regulation and voicing.
Inspections and Appraisals
We offer an appraisal service for those looking to value their piano for sale or insurance. We also offer an inspection service for those who are looking for a professional opinion on second hand pianos.
