Nicolas was born in Brisbane in June 1999. He began piano lessons at age three and at four years of age gave his first public performance at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, South Bank.

He studies piano and improvisation with Joyce Bennett and receives additional tuition in solfege and music theory from Angela Turner and Neil Hsieh. He also studies violin with Elizabeth Morgan. Nicolas has been successful in winning prizes at both the Queensland Eisteddfod and the Queensland Piano Competition (MTAQ).

This year he has been invited by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra to perform the Mozart Piano Concerto No 9 KV 271 at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, South Bank in October.

In January 2011 Nicolas will commence his studies at the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School of Music in Surrey, UK where during his audition he received one of the highest scores ever recorded for his aural and musicianship skills.

Only 10 to 12 places are available annually for international students with exceptional musical potential. Under President Daniel Baremboim, the School will provide the ideal environment essential to develop not only his very special talents in piano and violin but also to fulfil his passion for composing and conducting.

Your support could help this young musician, whose tender age has prevented access to Government grants and regular trust and foundation philanthropic support.  Many thanks for your support.

Proceeds go to the YMFAustralia Awards Trust Fund.  Cheques to YMFAustralia Inc.

The YMFAustralia is a Government recognised cultural organisation established to foster music and support young musicians.
