Brisbane‘s most active Chamber Musicians burst out of the studio in May
After hours spent in front of microphones to record their latest CDs, Collusion has started their 2012 LIVE season with terrific concerts at both University of Queensland’s Project Week andGriffithUniversity’s Crossbows Festival. Audiences have even been treated to a new dance film by Collusion’s highly regarded resident choreographer Gareth Belling.
On Friday 25May at 7pm Collusion will perform the incredible Quartet for the End of Time, a masterpiece by composer Messiaen. Other works include pieces by Nigel Sabin and Gerard Brophy.
Performances of this work are generally very popular. This performance is hosted by Theme and Variations Commercial Rd Chamber Music Series. It is the perfect reason for you to return to LIVE classical performances by Collusion or a perfect way to introduce yourself to the splendour of the new classical music sound world.
The instruments in use for this performance are alone worth your while.
A Steinway Model D grand piano and the Fra Agostini Facini Violin played by Benjamin Greaves will make for an incredible evening of music.
This event will launch Collusion’s latest CD. The cover of this work has a painting by Matthew Johnson – “Movement to Dusk”. The light in this work resonates with Messiaen’s style. This art and music collaboration was aided by Michael and Danica Eather at Fireworks Gallery, Brisbane.
