Australia Quartet comprises four of Australia’s most passionate and innovative chamber musicians. As members of the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Camerata of St John’s, and as regular guests of major orchestras and festivals around the country, the AQ musicians have all been recipients of numerous national and international prizes including from the ABC Young Performers Awards, Sydney International Piano Competition and Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.
Since forming in 2011, AQ has given acclaimed performances at venues including the Melbourne Recital Centre, Elder Hall (Adelaide), the Independent Theatre (Sydney), Sydney Opera House and they are a regular guest for ABC Classic FM Sunday Live.
Australia Quartet’s mission is to concurrently champion contemporary Australian composers, breathe new life into rarely performed masterpieces and present the best-loved works of the piano quartet canon to both new and familiar audiences. AQ has proudly worked closely with leading Australian composers including Elena Kats-Chernin, Jack Symonds and Lyle Chan and is committed to fostering new Australian chamber music.
Building on its highly successful ensemble residency at the University of Technology in Sydney, in 2014 AQ will embark on an exciting new program of cross-collaborative concerts in addition to a series of performances at the Sydney Opera House Utzon Room and at numerous venues across the country.

DeClassified Music (DCM) is an innovative live music series based in Newstead, Brisbane, and is known for showcasing high-quality and energetic performances by leading Australian musicians. With the aim being to enhance Brisbane’s current cultural and social climate, DCM is taking amazing classical and jazz music out of ‘hidden’, ‘secret’ and ‘classified’ university halls and spaces, instead presenting performances in captivating, intimate and colourful local settings. We like to steer away from ‘classing’ and ‘categorising’ the music being presented, instead embracing everything from Baroque through to New Music, classical and jazz, solos to septets, acoustic and amplified, innovative projects and collaborative performances. DeClassified Music offers a uniquely Brisbane professional performance platform to the city’s own musicians as well as those based in other cities. Established in 2013, DeClassified Music has grown from the Commercial Road Chamber Music Series (2011-12).
