British violinist Sophie Till studied at the Royal Academy of Music (Zakhar Bron); The Royal College of Music (Dona Lee Croft); and the University of Massachusetts (Charles Treger).
She has always combined her love of teaching and performing. She was the 2004 recipient of the F. Lammot Belin Arts Scholarship for her radio series on the complete Beethoven Sonatas with pianist Ron Stabinsky. They have also given recitals in the US and UK, been featured on television and radio and recently released a CD of spiritual music, “Meditations”. In 2010 under Sophie’s direction, MarywoodUniversity’s String Project for children was awarded ASTA’s National String Project of the Year. She has given concerts and master classes in many different countries, in cluding India, South America, East Africa, and Europe. At the age of 24 she became faculty at the Royal College of Music Junior Department where her students were prize winners at the National Festival of Music for Youth, appeared on Nickelodeon television and BBC Radio.
Sophie is currently Clinical Assistant Professor of Violin at Marywood, Director of the String Project and violin faculty at the Golandsky Institute in NYC. In 2013 she presented lectures and master classes on the Taubman/Golandsky Approach for symposia at St John’s College Cambridge and at Princeton University.
