The purpose of the Series is to give young pianists the opportunity to perform a solo recital in front of a live audience. Each Emerging Artists Series concert features a young pianist nominated by a teacher from a NSW and QLD high school and a tertiary institution.

In Sydney, two outstanding recitalists (one from highschool and one from tertiary level) will be chosen by adjudicator, Prof. Michael Brimer, a highly respected in Australia as a performer and academic. Theme & Variations is sponsoring a total of $1000 in cash prizes. Furthermore, Theme & Variations will be sending the tertiary winner on a performance exchange in New Zealand in a reciprocal arrangement with Lewis Eady Music. Following our very well attended inaugural concert on Sunday 26th April, we are pleased to share the wonderful news that a generous member of the audience who wishes to remain anonymous, has donated a further $250 to increase the prize money for our young pianists. Furthermore, another generous donor who wishes to remain anonymous, has increased the prize money for our tertiary winner to $1000.

Cost: Adults $10; Child FREE. Bookings Ph :               (02) 9958 9888         (02) 9958 9888 or steinway@themeandvariations.com
