A program developed by Steinway & Sons will help promising young pianists worldwide become recognised as a ‘Young Steinway Artist’ with the aim of the program to distinguish deserving young artists early in their careers.
The title of ‘Young Steinway Artist’ will give talented pianists between the ages of 16 to 35 the distinction of being affiliated with the Steinway Artist family and access to the worldwide resources of Steinway & Sons and its exclusive network of dealers.
Being included on the ‘Steinway Artist’ roster is coveted by pianists all over the world and includes notable artists such as Martha Argerich and Diana Krall, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Billy Joel, Harry Connick Jnr and Helene Grimaud.
Previously, a formal affiliation with Steinway & Sons has been difficult for emerging artists since one requirement of becoming a Steinway Artist is that he or she owns a Steinway piano. Now the ownership of a Boston or Essex piano will help deserving young pianists be officially recognized by Steinway & Sons.
Some of the benefits of being recognized as a Young Steinway Artist include:
• Having their name listed on Steinway & Sons international rosters and websites, becoming part of the worldwide Steinway family
• The distinction of being a Young Steinway Artist which can be used in commercial marketing and publicity materials
• Reciprocal links between the Steinway website and personal web pages (Facebook, My Space, personal websites, etc.)
• Access to complimentary rehearsal facilities at Steinway dealerships worldwide, subject to availability
