Roger Cui (Aged 21) was born in Shanghai and came to Australia when he was 13. Since 2003, Roger has been studying under the tutelage of Natasha Vlassenko at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane. He was twice a finalist of the Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition and won 3rd and 2nd prizes respectively.
Internationally, Roger has been invited to undertake a national tour of piano recitals in France under the management of the Interpreter’s Association of Nice, France. He received 4th prize from the Inaugural Kerikeri International Piano Competition in New Zealand. In 2009, he received from the 2nd Southern Highland International Piano Comeptition and was awarded 5th Prize and the Best Australian Contestant award. Roger has also played recitals in various festivals and events. In April next year, Roger will commence his Master of Music studies under the tutelage of Dr. Kalle Randalu at the Hochschule fuer Musik Karlsruhe, Germany.
This recital is to support Roger before he performs in this demanding international competition.
