Theme & Variations are looking forward to participating in the 2012 Australian Festival of Chamber Music from 27 July – 6 August held in Townsville and Cairns, Queensland.
In the words of Artistic Director, Piers Lane, “The AFCM has become famous for its combination of top drawer music-making and friendly socialising. Our 22nd festival presents composers ranging from Telemann to Composer-in-Residence, our own Nigel Westlake, as renowned for his film music (‘Babe’ and ‘Miss Potter’) as for his concert work”.
Theme & Variations are always delighted to be a part of the Festival by providing concert and rehearsal pianos for festival artists and Winterschool participants. Technicians from Theme & Variations work around the clock to keep all the pianos prepared for performances, Masterclasses and rehearsals.
In addition to the Steinway & Sons, Boston and Essex pianos for performances and practice rooms, Theme & Variations send over 20 different size upright and grand pianos for public selection. The commitment shown to the Festival secures Theme & Variations Piano Services as ‘Platinum Partners’ along with James Cook University and Jupiters Townsville.
A sales event is held in conjunction with the Festival offering the general public a unique opportunity to select from a range of Steinway-designed pianos in north-Queensland.
The pianos remain in north-Queensland for a limited time. Therefore, it is important for genuine buyers to make an appointment to view the selection of pianos housed at the V8 Pit Building, near the Townsville Civic Theatre.
