A World First.
Music Composed for Piano and Porsche.
On Tuesday the 17th September 2013, The Porsche Centre Willoughby and Theme & Variations Piano Services will host a premiere performance of the world’s first musical composition for three Steinway & Sons pianos and three Porsche automobiles.
The piece will be showcased as part of the NSW Chapter Annual Dinner for the Plastic Surgery Society, an evening that will also feature celebrity chef Darren Simpson.
Titled “Firing Order 1-6-2-4-3-5”, The composition has been commissioned for the event, and was written by emerging composer Daniel Manera, who is undertaking his PHD in music composition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Daniel has composed the piece based on the firing order of cylinders in the Porsche flat-six engine, and his work will feature live engine ‘notes’ of all three Porsches with the Steinway pianos in a spectacular 3D acoustic setting.
Both Porsche and Steinway & Sons enjoy a celebrated history as German manufactureres, who have earned a reputation for luxury and excellence with their combined history of nearly 300 years!
