This piece was performed as part of the Theme & Variations ‘Take Six’ Piano Extravaganza, which featured 6 Steinway & Sons concert grand pianos. The concert was in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Theme & Variations Piano Services, and the 100th anniversary of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
According to legend, “Death” appears at midnight every year on Halloween and calls forth the dead from their graves to dance for him. His skeletons dance for him until the rooster crows at dawn, when they must return to their graves until next year. This arrangement is for 8 hands.
