A Bona Cottage Upright by Jim Coyle
Performed by Timothy Young, James Huntingford, Gabriella Pusner and Joshua Creek
This piece was performed as part of the Theme & Variations ‘Take Six’ Piano Extravaganza, which featured 6 Steinway & Sons concert grand pianos. The concert was in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Theme & Variations Piano Services, and the 100th anniversary of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
This work takes its title from an obscure joke in the slang of an oppressed group who, despite their suffering, managed to be exuberant and fabulous. A Bona Cottage Upright is a piece that taste forgot, but is a whole lot of fun! For the sheet music, click here. For more information on the composer, Jim Coyle, click here.
